Phoenix is one of those places that upon walking out of the airport you feel like you can really take a deep breath and finally release the weight that has been building in your shoulders. This feeling might also be exacerbated when one is flying from New York, but I digress.
Last weekend Jordan and I were lucky enough to fly to Phoenix for a long weekend to visit his mum and pups; something that was much needed and v much appreciated. Although you could easily spend a week in Phoenix exploring the palm tree lined streets, hiking, picking fresh citrus or dining at some exceptionally delicious restaurants, we definitely have our go-to spots that if you’re only in town for a day or two are must-try kind of joints.
Although when we’re not eating (rarely, tbh), we are mostly just soaking in the quiet and beauty of the desert. And, if you’re someone that enjoys warm weather (avoid summer months by all means necessary), palm trees and mountain views then Arizona may just be what you’ve been looking for.
If you’re already packing your bags keep scrolling for a round up of some of my favorite spots to sit back, sip and snack.
Zinc is that neighborhood bistro that just about has it all – fabulous patio, great food and cozy atmosphere. This is typically our go-to lunch spot whenever we’re in town and it honestly never disappoints. Some of my favorites are their Cool Dungeness Crab Salad or Smoked Tuna Salad Sandwiches, although both on the lighter side they are always accompanied with a side order of their House Frites, which are never to be skipped.
Soi 4 is a Bangkok Eatery that offers really delicious food with a chic, laid back atmosphere. The decor consists of dimly lit light fixtures and an array of jewel toned throw pillows that are neatly nestled in the corners of all of their booths. I typically gravitate towards the Fish Trap, Kao Pad Pu or Kao Pad Sapparot {because I will almost always order a dish with seafood} and have never left hungry.
Pomo is that pizzeria that everyone needs in their neighborhood for those nights that you just want a wood fired pizza and XL glass of red wine. Some of my absolute faves are their Principe, with mozz, prosciutto & arugula, or their Bufala Verace with buffalo mozzarella, basil & evoo. Pair one (or both!) with a glass of red and a Romana Insalate and voila!
I don’t think I really have to say much about this one. In-n-Out is always delicious and, even at 12am, always a good idea. If you’ve never been, please book a ticket to the west coast and go immediately.
Eat, enjoy, relax ~
xx
