I have to preface this post by giving you a full disclaimer that I am a product junkie. I lurrrve trying new makeup, hair, skin care, you name it, and as of recently, have been watching more and more ‘beauty’ Youtubers during my daily commute.
Its through these vids that I realized how beautiful, budget friendly and under-rated ELF Cosmetics is. Not only are most of their products under $10, but a handful of them are definitely items that I will be keeping around my makeup case for awhile. I’ve provided a little beauty breakdown on a few of my fave products currently, and have to admit that I have another shipment of ELF products on its way as we speak…
Prep & Hydrate Balm//$8
To say this has been somewhat of a life saver would be an understatement. During the winter months I’m always plagued with dry and flakey skin, particularly in my T-zone area and definitely under my eyes. This doesn’t work as a primer, per say, but basically you apply this in the areas you need it most before applying your foundation and voila! It provides an instant kick of moisture, while also preventing your foundation from grabbing at those unflattering dry patches.
Hydrating Under Eye Primer//$3
OK, in combination with what is now my holy grail eye cream (post coming soon!) this stuff has really pleasantly surprised me. As previously mentioned, this winter I have really struggled with dry and flakey patches under my eyes, which made applying concealer a nightmare. But, after applying a little bit of this under the eyes before applying my concealer and after applying eye cream, I have seen a dramatic difference in how my makeup has looked, lasted and creased throughout the day.
Shimmering Facial Whip//$1
So..yeah this is $1 and its actually pretty great, which still blows my mind. I got these in shades Lilac Petal and Golden Peach and again was very pleasantly surprised. These are perfect to apply with a beauty blender to your cheek bones or anywhere you want a lil subtle glow. I think they blended with my foundation really beautifully and have a nice but subtle pigment. Honestly, for $1 though I don’t think you can beat it though.

*chillin’ around the house
Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer//$2
Again, mind blown. I mean how many things can you really buy for $2 these days let alone an eye primer? I know in New York I can basically get a bag of Utz for $2 and I thought that was a steal.. Anyways, yes, I tried out this primer one night when I was just chillin at home with a full face of make-up (normal, right?) and was actually amazed that over the course of a few hours I literally had no creasing with my eye shadow, what so ever. Flash forward to a few days ago when I was in Cincinnati visiting a few of my college besties and after making it to Skyline Chili 7 minutes after close, I unfortunately fell asleep with my makeup on. All things aside when I woke up I was pretty shocked that my eye makeup was still in tact, major props to this lil guy!
Essential Lipstick in Nostalgic//$1
This lipstick was something I was drawn to on their website because 1.) they describe it as, a “moisture rich formula that hydrates, conditions and soften lips” and 2.) because the color Nostalgic honestly looked like the perfect nude shade. Given the price of this item you aren’t necessarily going to get something that wears as beautifully as a Tom Ford lipstick but you will get something that is a pretty great bang for your buck. I would recommend blotting your lips slightly after applying but overall, I definitely think this is a shade I will be reaching for more and more.
Now, until my next shipment arrives…
xx
Think I’m going to start buying more elf products after reading this. Thanks for sharing girl 😘
Thanks Kitty! Yes, honestly I just got another shipment of stuff from them and with their prices you really cannot go wrong with most of their products. Let me know what you end up going for!
